Maria Bartiromo Pink-Slipped from Fox “Effective Today”
Regarding the Fox Business host, Fox News Media said on Thursday that “Maria Bartiromo is no longer with Fox News Media effective today.” “We appreciate Maria’s efforts over the past 12 and a half years and wish her luck in her next endeavor.”
Similar to Fox’s abrupt dismissal of Tucker Carlson in 2023, Bartiromo’s equally abrupt departure received no explanation. The seasoned small-screen host hasn’t posted anything on social media.
I’ve heard that Bartiromo’s departure from Fox has nothing to do with the former CNBC personality joining another network.
According to sources, Bartiromo’s resignation from Fox doesn’t stem from him landing a lucrative White House job, at least not yet. This is true regardless of what transpired in the House of Murdoch, and something undoubtedly went wrong for Bartiromo to be figuratively removed from the building and Fox Business.
Many people have speculated that Bartiromo would be appointed as Trump’s next press secretary in the White House.
Given that Thursday was the first White House press conference since Karoline Leavitt resigned, the timing is undoubtedly revealing to some. The strangely delayed briefing was led by Vise President JD Vance.
The generally pretty confident VP appeared to become anxious when questioned about Bartiromo receiving the podium gig during today’s roughly 30-minute delayed briefing. Self-described Bartiromo “good friend” Vance replied, sort of laughing, “I don’t know, man. . . No, I don’t think so,” clearly aware that a specific audience of one was watching.
Bartiromo, known as the “Money Honey” for her years of live coverage of Wall Street from the New York Stock Exchange floor, last appeared on Fox Business on August 9. On August 7, she made her final live appearance on Fox News. Before today’s announcement of her departure, her absence during the past month hardly made an impression on the media.
Mornings with Maria will now be known as Morning with Fox Business, and its hosts will change over the coming weeks.
