Rhiannon Ally and Rachel Scott will co-anchor “Good Morning America Weekend,” According to ABC News
Leslie Lopez, a weekend meteorologist, will join the anchor teams. After working for KABC-TV in Los Angeles for almost ten years, she joined the network in April.
In addition to co-anchoring GMA on Saturdays in New York, Scott will continue to serve as a senior political correspondent covering the White House and Capitol Hill in Washington. During her tenure at ABC News, she led coverage of President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential contest and covered live from Butler, Pennsylvania, shortly after Donald Trump’s 2024 assassination attempt.
When she questioned Russian President Vladimir Putin in a press conference in 2021, she received a lot of attention and admiration. In 2016, Scott became a production associate at ABC News.
Ally joined the network in 2021 and most recently co-anchored Good Morning America First Look and World News Now. She has hosted overnight coverage of the deaths of Pope Francis and Queen Elizabeth II, among other things, and led coverage of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
The team will be able to appear more frequently on weekday shows thanks to the new format, according to a statement from Simone Swink, senior executive producer of the Good Morning America franchise.
